Welcome to Norton Kent Art!For more than a decade, women have been the subject matter for Hot Springs, Arkansas artist Norton Kent. She feels all women have a story to tell and that they are survivors of some event in their lives that can be related to by others. "The Women in the paintings must relate to the viewer," said Norton Kent. To accomplish this, she combines expressionism and illustrative styles into her art. Norton Kent often chooses the middle ages as the historic time frame for her women and places them in the privileged part of society where a few women had power and others were under total domination by both men and the society of the time. She sees these women together for support and survival. The paintings are done in acrylic, mixed media or oils in various sizes from miniature to large. All paintings except miniatures are done on stretched canvas. Miniatures are done on canvas board. The pallet ranges from a variation of a single color to full spectrum. I do replications of photographs of women with acrylic on canvas to the size you specify. Contact me for pricing. Paintings are priced according to if they are framed or unframed. Also, the given price includes regular land shipping in the contintental United States. Shipping to Alaska would be higher. Norton Kent's recent paintings can be seen in the collections of Senator Blanche Lincoln, Stephen's Corporation, and in the permanent collection of Hot Springs, Arkansas, among many others. She also has been featured twice in AY (Active Years) Magazine, and in Art Galleries, and Artist of the South magazine.
